| Alignment Procedures Mark Stephens South Australian Living Artists Week 1-8 August I am interested in small things (such as prefixes and organisms), how they connect together to form larger things (such as words and communities) and how this compounds to approach the idea of community. The works in Alignment Procedures will span a number of disciplines including geology and architecture, mural and cartoon, cinema and computer game, technology and demonology. The exhibition will investigate the compatibility of theses realms in coexistence, and the possible reasons for their 'being-together'. This exhibition will serve as a continuation of research projects undertaken as a part of my participation in Ensemble Logic and will deal with specific issues arising from my recent engagement with digital technologies and electronic spaces. -Mark Stephens Mark Stephens is an Adelaide based emerging artist whose work has been exhibited at the Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia, in public art projects, and at Stripp gallery, Melbourne. StephensÕs exhibition is a feature of the 1999 South Australian Living Artists week (1-8 August). |
