Slovenian artpranksters — along the lines of Komar & Melamid, Fluxus & General Idea — performance, installation & disruption. This is a retrospective of 20 years together at the barricades of high-art sensibility. The Irwin collective are canny and mordant, light and accurate and have their finger on various of the pulses animating art in the West today, and have done for some time. Large format, heavy paper, a multitude of fabulous colour pictures. Interviews and overviews of phases of their work and major themes published between 1984 & 2003 in journals, catalogues and books - many of which today are out of print. . Accompanied an exhibition touring Germany & middle Europe & since then going still further afield. |
