CATEGORY, ALPHABET and SEARCH OPTIONS
You have several options to find books and reviews at Dark Horsey Bookshop online.

You will find in the data for each book extensive descriptions written by darkhorsey (Ken Bolton, Bookshop Manager) or taken directly from the book’s jacket or publicity information.

BROWSE BY CATEGORY
If you would like to find a book but are not sure of the title or author, the browse by category option allows you to scan our catalogue by departments like an ordinary book store. Each department contains a wide range of titles to choose from. Select and click on the category menu you wish to browse and go.

VISUAL ARTS: comprises catalogues (usually designated as such), art theory, monographs, art history, photography, museology, artists’ books etc. Some new digital media. Performance art. Journals.

LITERARY: poetry, prose, novel, criticism & literary theory, poetics, biography - especially small press American & Australian work; some journals.

FEMINISM / GENDER STUDIES feminist theory & history & feminist approaches to other disciplines; gay studies; some sociological material

POSTCOLONIALISM includes studies related to race, East West, North South divides; multinationalism, New World Order perspectives & Australia’s situation

CULTURAL STUDIES: the usual area - text book introductions, guides & dictionaries of Cultural Studies / cultural theory; some classic texts; anthropology, some philosophy; indigenous Australia; some media studies; & plain History/sociology

BROWSE BY ALPHABET
Alphabetically listed by the first letter of each title. You can search alphabetically all the titles by clicking on ALL in the category menu and then clicking on the letter of the alphabet you want. You can also search using this process each other category listed andthe desired letter of the alphabet.

SEARCH
If you know the author, publisher, ISBN or part of the title of the book you wish to order, choose the Search option. Enter the details of the book and click on the "Go" button. You will be given a list of matches for your search criteria, and can view further details by clicking on the title of the book(s).

If your search is not successful, please email us with as much information as possible about the book (publisher, title, author, isbn, key words) and we will promptly advise if we can source it for you.

REQUEST and ORDERING OPTIONS BY EMAIL:
Use the email form provided. This is a request form only. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PUT ANY CREDIT CARD DETAILS IN THE EMAIL FORM. We will get back to you letting you know whether the book is in stock or needs to be ordered, how much it will be, what the postage will be and how long it should take to arrive. We will then ask you for your prefered payment method.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
Upfront payment/deposit is 30% of retail value on books ordered that we do not have in stock, fully refundable if we are unable to supply.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
We accept Cheques, books will only be sent once cheques have cleared.
Please make all Cheques payable to the EXPERIMENTAL ART FOUNDATION.
We accept Money Orders.

If you choose to pay by credit card your information will be stored on file here (securely) so you don't need to re send your information each time you order. Please remember to inform us though if you change address or if your information changes so we can update my records.

Send your credit card details as a file attachment (a Word document or rich text file {RTF} would be fine). All these ways are pretty safe and considerbaly better than having your information stored online to be hacked into)

If you are not comfortable submitting your credit card details over the internet, you can still order via DARKHORSEY online. All you have to do is print off the order page, manually fill in your credit card details and then fax the order to us. For added security you can fax your credit card details in two transmissions.

The Bookshop is open Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday from 11am to 5pm Central Standard Time, Australia. On Saturday the Bookshop is open from 2pm to 5pm Central Standard Time, Australia. The Bookshop is not open on Sundays.

PRICING
While DARKHORSEY attempts to ensure that all prices on the web site are correct, prices may sometimes vary for reasons beyond our control. If there is a price difference we will contact you before processing your order and reserve the right not to sell at the displayed price.


DELIVERY TIMES:
Items currently in stock are dispatched within 48 hours of the order being placed. Sundays and Mondays we're closed. Items are sent by Australia Post and run to their schedule. Price of post varies with size and weight. (Usually single titles travel within Australia for between $5 and $8.) Darkhorsey has a strict policy of not profiteering from postage and handling. What it costs us, it costs you.

Orders shipped to other counries take between 10 days and 3 weeks from time
of dispatch (7 - 8 weeks by seamail).

Books not currently in stock are ordered within a few days of the customer's order but can take time to arrive: 10 days if supplied to us from within Australia usually, but sometimes taking 4 - 6 weeks. Where we import directly ourselves the time taken is usually 5 - 7 weeks. These figures blow out occasionally with titles that overseas suppliers find hard to locate immediately. We will write to you setting out our undertanding of supply times for your order.

If a book is unavailable we will write letting you know.
We will search for a book over a two week period. If unsuccessfull we will contact you and ask whether you would like us to continue searching.


CHECK YOUR RECENT ORDERS
If you want to know how your order(s) are going please contact us, quoting your name, contact deatils and book(s) and the date you ordered the book. We will promptly reply letting you know what is going on with your order.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS
We accept returns of damaged or faultily manufactured titles. Contact us immediately with the request and the reason for return. We will write to you authorising its return and will proceed to replace the item. Unfortunately we won't be able to accept for return anything that is in perfect condition but was purchased in error, so remember to place your orders carefully. There is a time limit of 14 days from time of recieving your purcase for faulty items to be returned so don't delay in contacting us if there is a problem.

DARKHORSEY will refund or replace books purchased from our web site provided they are returned within 14 days, are in good order, and are accompanied by our official receipt/tax invoice.

When sending goods back to DARKHORSEY, we only cover the cost of freight for goods that are faulty or damaged prior to delivery. Freight costs for all other returns will be at the expense of the purchaser.

CANCELLATION OF AN ORDER
Everybody changes their mind, so, generally speaking, cancellation of an order placed with us is not a problem ... provided that we're given enough time to stop the payment and postage cycle, or cancel the order with our supplier before it ships. This varies depending on the supplier, so if you're in any doubt, please contact us as soon as you can after placing your order, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
